Are you homeless?
For most young people, the safest place for them would be living at home, however difficult that might be.
Most young people don’t choose to become homeless. But it can happen for a number of different reasons.
You may be looking to leave home – maybe you don’t feel safe at home or you want more independence.
Does Croydon council have to house you?
The Government has laid down 5 rules for local councils, which they have to check before they can house you?
- Are you homeless?
- Are you eligible?
- Do you have priority need?
- Did you become homeless intentionally?
- Do you have a local connection to Croydon?
You could complete the Online Assessment on Shelter’s website to see if your local council should house you.
Shelter’s website also has a lot of useful information and advice about housing for young people. They also provide a free helpline for information and advice. |
