Croydon's Turnaround Centre

Croydon Council's decision to house all the very best services for supporting young people under a single roof, and then fronting them all with a charity that specialises in working with vulnerable and excluded young people deserves applause. It's a remarkable first - and something that the borough should be proud of.

Focussed advice and support

The Drop in Zone service at Croydon Council’s Turnaround Centre is a place where young people can simply turn up for advice and support in a safe and secure environment.  The Zone service is delivered by CAYSH who have been working with vulnerable  and excluded young people in Croydon for  over thirty years.

Within the Zone young people and families are able to get support from a team with a wide range of experiences and ways of helping. This might be some sort of intervention in a family dispute involving a young person, or signposting to the other services based  at Turnaround Centre and those in the borough as  a whole. The Zone is also here for families and parents who can come to us for support and advice.

Behind the Zone are a whole range of young people's services, not just our specialist housing team (formerly HAP<25). The Zone is open to everyone from 14 - 21 years of age and their families. In addition to general advice on all issues affecting young people,  we work with a range of partner agencies that have joined Croydon Council and us at the Turnaround Centre. These include:

  • Challenge and Support (ABA)

  • Family Intervention Project

  • Gangs Advisory Project

  • Leaving Care and Independence

  • PAYP

  • Victim Support's R U OK? Project

  • Youth Inclusion Support Panel

  • Youth Offending Service
