Our mission and goals

Working together towards independence

CAYSH was originally set up by a group of community organisations in 1980 who were concerned about the  high levels of youth homelessness in Croydon.

Over the years, we have expanded our services to provide a variety of advice, support and accommodation services to young people.

CAYSH is currently at the end of one business strategy and developing the next 3 year plan. However, we have identified the following themes for the coming years we shall focus upon:

Earlier support

Problems don't just start the moment a young person presents themselves as homeless. They are often the result of deep-seated issues which have been growing over a long period of time.

With this in mind, we aim to expand our services to young people from the age of 14.

Wider outreach

We currently provide services in Croydon and Greenwich, but we aim to expand our outreach to help more young people across south London.

Broader range

A key part of our future direction will include moving the emphasis and scope of our work away from being exclusively a housing charity for young people. We shall increase our services to providing a range of support and advice to young people.
